I purchased this Matcha Kuro last December and finished it within the same month—but better late than never when it comes to sharing a review, especially for a matcha that is truly worth the purchase. I can confidently say it was worth every sip!!!
This matcha uses the Okumidori cultivar, made from 100% first flush harvest, shaded, stone-milled, and expertly processed. That level of quality clearly shows in its color, aroma, and flavor. The scent is naturally sweet, nutty, and floral, paired with a vibrant green color that immediately signals quality to me.
Flavor-wise, it is beautifully balanced—naturally sweet with a gentle, satisfying umami, and little to no bitterness or astringency. This closely matches the brand’s stated flavor profile, which I found to be very accurate. Subtle walnut notes come through, finishing smooth and creamy without feeling heavy.
This matcha has set a personal standard for me. It’s a premium-grade matcha that feels refined yet approachable—clean, balanced, and deeply enjoyable. I usually pair it with oat milk (oatside) and a touch of French vanilla syrup, but honestly, it shines just as much on its own. Pure zen in a cup! 🥹
